THE BLACK WOMAN'S CURSE!

Recently I was reading a facebook status where a strong woman of God was confessing how she prays to God to send her a good man. It goes on to ask God to reveal the man to her during her life time where she will no longer have to live a lonely life. While reading her heart-felt status I noticed that I find myself asking the Lord the exact same thing. Within the next ten years I will have graduated undergraduate school, buy my own apartment, start my career, go to graduate school, get married, and have children (according to society's timeline). This is a lot in ten years! So I am not ashamed to ask God for guidance in seeking a soulmate. I mean, have I met him yet? What will he be like? Will I be happy or will I have to get a divorce and find true love in a second marriage? All of these questions go through every black womans' mind.

After having these thoughts, there are things like the black woman's curse that comes to mind. I won't go into detail about this topic, instead I will post the link that fully explains my concern with the black woman's curse.

"It's easy 2 tell u ur beautiful wen ur Half naked on profile pic.. Thats why i choose not 2 be the Average Nigga"- A guy on facebook

I was "facebook stalking" one day and I stumble across this status. This made me think back to all of the guys who have been in my life or have given me a compliment. For those of you who know me I'm not the type to expose my body. But I have seen girls who wear the ultra mini skirts and guys are literally throwing themselves at these women. Do these women truly possess beauty? Fellas, I really need your opinion on this one...

It's the Law

"You know, your
Honor, throughout this entire court case you haven't looked me or

my attorney in the eye, once. It's obvious that you're not here to serve justice. So

therefore, there's no point in me asking for a lighter sentence. I don't care what you do

because you're not respecting us, this isn't a court of law, and as I'm concerned, there is

no justice being served here. And you still can't look me in the eye. So I say, do what you

want to do. Give me what ever time you want because I'm not in your hands, I'm in God's

hands". Tupac Amaru Shakur

*Why is it that justice is always represented by a white woman who is blindfolded when there are quotes like this?...........There's a reason why I don't want to go into law*

You're such a Liar!

All of my blogs have been inspired by a TV show, movie, or something that I have read. My blog would be considered the written version of the song "I Heard" by Jill Scott (check it out). This time I have been inspired by Kim Kardashian on the show "Keeping up with the Kardashians." I was never a big fan of Kim Kardashian mainly because of of the whole white woman black man situation (that's a topic for another day), but today she took it to a whole different level. On this episode she constantly lies to her family and rebuttals with, "I don't tell big lies, it was only a white lie." What does that mean? In the end, she lies to her two younger sisters which results in their lack of trust for Kim.

Women are notorious for complaining about men who lie. Before we judge men we have to examine our selves as women. Now don't get me wrong I would be lying if I said that I have never told a story before but to the extent of hurting your family? For those of you who are reading this, how long can you go without fibbing? Please comment :)
